Newsletter: Signs of the Tech Revolution #18
“We have more demand than we could fulfill if we had even more capacity today,” Amazon CEO Andy Jassy said.
There are a number of reasons for this surging demand.
AI and ML solutions demand massive computing power, so organizations are modernizing their infrastructures while remote work drives the need for accessible data. As businesses go global, they rely on the cloud for secure, scalable infrastructure across locations— without the need to invest in expensive physical data centers everywhere.
One can say that it’s the golden era for cloud providers.
They and AI companies have all eyeballs on them.
However, there is a big part of the economy that people miss…
Many businesses can’t make the budget for their new cloud infrastructure as the costs rise together with the demand. Meaning modernizations are put on hold, systems are more susceptible to attacks, and it’s more difficult to scale or leverage new technologies.
It’s time to change this to open new possibilities for all of us.

News #1: Interpol busts global cybercrime ring, 41 arrested
In a remarkable display of international cooperation, Operation Synergia II has dealt a significant blow to global cybercrime networks. Interpol's five-month operation successfully dismantled over 1,000 malicious servers across 95 countries, leading to 41 arrests.
What's particularly striking is the scale: they tackled 22,000 IP addresses, with a 76% takedown rate.
The operation revealed concerning trends - cybercriminals are now leveraging generative AI for sophisticated phishing attacks, while ransomware incidents surged 70% last year.
Key successes included major server takedowns in Hong Kong and Macau, with ongoing investigations into 65 additional suspects.

News #3: Tech executives reassessing IT resilience
The CrowdStrike outage exposed major IT resilience gaps, prompting tech executives to reassess vulnerabilities. A survey by Cockroach Labs reveals that over 90% of organizations are aware of these risks, yet nearly half admit insufficient action on resilience.
The incident, which crippled global systems, highlighted the need for robust preparedness as companies face costly, frequent outages. Financial impacts vary widely, with some reaching millions in losses. Experts urge a proactive, strategic approach to resilience, but funding for it remains a challenge for many firms.
News #4: Cloud giants struggle to meet surging demand
“We have more demand than we could fulfill if we had even more capacity today,” - Amazon CEO
Amid surging global demand for cloud services, even the largest hyperscalers like Amazon, Microsoft, and Google Cloud face capacity constraints. Cloud spending hit nearly $84 billion in Q3 2024, with enterprise demand for infrastructure, platform, and AI-based solutions driving double-digit growth.
Both Microsoft and Google Cloud have made heavy investments to meet demand, yet the overall market shares remain relatively stable: AWS leads with 31%, followed by Microsoft at 20% and Google Cloud at 13%.
